Chandigarh, June 5 (IANS) The Haryana police Thursday said three dreaded criminals, who had fled to South Africa and were running an extortion racket from there, were being extradited from that country. The three criminals, Joginder Singh, Surender Kumar and Baljeet Singh, were wanted in connection with murder and extortion charges. They had escaped from India last year and were operating from South Africa, a Haryana police spokesman said.
They had entered South Africa illegally and were facing immigration cases there also.
The spokesman said that all three criminals will arrive in India Friday following their extradition from South Africa. They will be accompanied by South African and Haryana police officials.
All three are accused of plotting the murder of businessman Narender Arora of Kaithal town in Haryana, 130 km from here, March this year after he did not accede to their ransom demand of Rs.5 million.
Interpol red corner notices had been sent to other countries to trace these criminals, Haryana police officials said.
