July 13th, 2011 - 12:16 pm ICT by IANSKurukshetra (Haryana), July 13 (IANS) A man from this Haryana town was shot dead by unknown assailants at Indiana in the US while he was on his way back from work, his family said here Wednesday.
Deepak Sharma, 31, migrated to the US around two years ago and worked at a shopping mall. He was killed Monday while he was returning from work.
“Indiana police officers called us yesterday and gave us the news. They said that their investigation was on and so far nobody has been arrested,” Pardeep, Deepak’s younger brother, told IANS.
“We also confirmed this from Deepak’s Punjabi employer,” he said.
“I have also talked to some of his colleagues. They suspect he was killed for money,” he added.
“We have appealed to the Indian government and the Indian consulate in the US to help us in bringing back his body,” said Shravan, Deepak’s father.
Deepak last visited India in February this year.
