Haryana cop commits suicide
April 5th, 2011 - 2:32 pm ICT by IANSRohtak, April 5 (IANS) A Haryana Police officer killed himself with his service revolver at his official residence here, police said Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Sub-Inspector Surat Singh. He committed suicide at his home in the police lines area.
“The deceased had not left any suicide note and so far no reason has been ascertained for the incident. He shot himself in the head. The body has been sent for post-mortem and investigations are on,” Sathish Balan, Rohtak superintendent of police, said here Tuesday.
“We are recording the statements of his family members.”
Family members said Singh was alone in his room and was watching television when the incident took place.
