Harry gets trained for hostage situation
January 31st, 2012 - 7:33 pm ICT by IANSLondon, Jan 31 (IANS) Prince Harry, who is also an Apache helicopter pilot, has received training for a possible hostage situation he could face if he crashes behind enemy lines and is captured.
The 27-year-old Harry was hooded and threatened during the “brutal” hostage training to prepare him ahead of his return to the Afghan war zone, The Sun reported.
The prince was taken through “nightmare scenarios” at the Royal Air Force St. Mawgan in Cornwall.
Harry — also known as “Captain Wales” in the army — is reportedly the first British royal to face such training.
The prince, who serves in the Army Air Corps, first served in Afghanistan with the Household Cavalry in 2008. He is expected to return later this year to fly missions to provide air support to ground troops.
