July 8th, 2011 - 11:09 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, July 8 (IANS) Publisher HarperCollins India has won the Asian Publishing Award for its campaign to promote the dark human comedy, “Johnny Gone Down” by Karan Bajaj.
The award was presented to the publisher at a function in Bangkok Friday evening, an announcement from the publisher said.
HarperCollins India became the runner-up in the “Best Use of Multimedia Marketing by a Book Publisher” category of the Asian Publishing Awards 2011 for “Who is Johnny?” campaign executed in phases.
With 63 entries from 29 companies across nine countries vying for the award, the judges had a difficult time evaluating the entries, Harper Collins India said.
P.M. Sukumar, CEO, HarperCollins India said the “company was delighted to have won the excellence award on use of multimedia in books marketing for the campaign”.
“Like the Asian Publishing Awards themselves, we have always tried to bring innovation and creativity in the way we market books. It is very satisfying to be recognized and awarded again,” he said.
“The Asian Publishing Awards (APA) is Asia’s premier awards program that recognises outstanding achievement in the development of successful business models using the tools and multimedia channels available. These apply to books, newspaper, newsletter and magazine publishers in the multimedia (print, mobile and online),” Sukumar said.
