Harassed by in-laws, woman jumps with kids before train
December 21st, 2009 - 11:37 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )New Delhi, Dec 21 (IANS) A 26-year-old woman died and her two children sustained serious injuries when she jumped with them in front of a train in capital Monday, allegedly following continuous harassment from husband and in-laws, police said.
Beenu took her two children Muskan, 3, and two-month-old Abhiyan to the rail tracks near Sawan Park area of north Delhi late Monday.
“She jumped in front of a train. She was cut into two pieces and her children suffered serious injuries and are undergoing treatment at the Sir Gangaram Hospital,” a police officer said.
According to police, Beenu, was allegedly harassed by her husband and in-laws. She got married six years ago.
“In her suicide note, she claimed that she was being harassed and sad. She said she was fed up with her life and loved her parents,” the officer added.
The police said a sub-divisional magistrate is inquiring into the suicide.
