New Delhi, June 28 (IANS) A gym manager was arrested for twice raping his 24-year-old woman colleague, police said Tuesday. Another employee of the gym was held for molesting her.

“The two accused — Ajay Kumar, 32, manager of the gym, and head trainer Rakesh, 27, — were held Monday from Fitness Centre, a gym located inside Delhi Development Authority (DDA) Sports Complex in Sector-11 in Dwarka,” said a senior police officer.

The victim, working as physical trainer in the gym, told police that while Ajay raped her June 19 and June 24, Rakesh tried to rape her June 25 after which she told her fiance and mother about it.

“The victim said when her fiance took up the matter with the duo, they beat him up. He had to be rushed to hospital for treatment,” said the officer.

The victim, had joined the gym June 15 as a physical trainer about two weeks ago, registered a complaint police following which an case was registered on Sunday.

“The medical examination of the victim has confirmed rape following which the duo were arrested and sent to jail,” said the officer.

Ajay told Police that he raped her in the changing room of the gym after making her consume a white powder when she complained of head ache. “He threatened her of dire consequences if she told anyone about the matter and raped her again a few days later,” said the officer.

Police said Ajay told Rakesh that he had raped her. “Rakesh also tried to take advantage of her, but she managed to flee from his clutches,” said the officer.
