Gurjinder to lead India juniors in Sultan Johor Cup

Govinda New Delhi, Oct 18 (IANS) Defender Gurjinder Singh will lead India juniors in the six-nation Sultan Johor Cup hockey at Johor Bahru, Malaysia Nov 5-12.

Australia, South Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand and Pakistan are the other teams participating.

The tournament shall be played at Taman Daya Stadium, Johor Bahru on a round-robin format with the final and other position matches slated for Nov 12.

Selection Trials for the Indian team for this tournament were conducted at SAI Centre, Bangalore Oct 14-15 and witnessed by Hockey India selectors Balbir Singh, BP Govinda and Syed Ali.

The following are the 18 players and 7 standbys for the tournament:
