Gurgaon hospital wins WHO hygiene award
July 16th, 2011 - 8:09 pm ICT by IANSGurgaon, July 16 (IANS) Artemis Health Institute here won the World Health Organisation’s (WHO) award for hand hygiene here Saturday.
The hospital was chosen for having best hand hygiene practices from among three international finalists for the Asia Pacific Hand Hygiene Excellence award 2010.
“Doctors and nurses have implemented and followed the set of guidelines and protocols to maintain hand hygiene standards. This was for better patient care,” said Devlina Chakravarty, chief operating officer and medical director of the hospital.
The other two finalists were from Hue, Vietnam, and Melbourne, Australia.
The winner was declared on the basis of an expert review panel to the nominated hospitals, using the WHO self-assessment framework that emphasised on hand hygiene practices among the hospital staff and services.
