Gandhinagar, April 9 (IANS) People burst crackers and distributed sweets in cities and towns across Gujarat Saturday as veteran Gandhian Anna Hazare ended his four-day long fast in Delhi.

Vinod Pandya, who is coordinating the ‘India Against Corruption’ campaign in Gujarat, said the entire state was celebrating the victory of the common man after the government was forced to accept Hazare’s demand of including the civil society in drafting a stringent anti-garft Lokpal Bill.

Processions are slated to be taken out Saturday evening in Surat, Vadodara, Nadiad, Jamnagar and Junagadh. In Ahmedabad, a candlelight rally will be held from Gandhi statue to the Town Hall to thank the people for their support.

Leading social activist Bharat Zala said a group of drivers will take out a rally in Ahmedabad Sunday to voice their support to Hazare.

“He was a driver in the army and we are proud of him,” he said.
