Guard at Pilot’s house shoots self, dies
January 29th, 2012 - 5:57 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )New Delhi, Jan 29 (IANS) A security guard at the residence of Minister of State for Communications Sachin Pilot allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle here early Sunday, police said.
The victim, identified as 32-year-old Inapu from Kohima, shot himself just after midnight Saturday at Pilot’s 3, Safdarjung Road house. He was rushed to Ram Manohar Lohia hospital where he was declared dead.
Inapu, who was with Nagaland Armed Police, was on duty from 10 p.m. “He had returned from Kohima six days ago. He had been depressed over some issue,” a police official said.
His colleagues were sleeping in the guard room when a single shot rang out.
“Hearing the sound, all the guards rushed outside and found him in blood as the bullet pierced from lower part of his neck and came out from his head,” the official said.
No suicide note was recovered.
