Guard at Maken’s family home assaulted
October 26th, 2009 - 11:20 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Oct 26 (IANS) A guard posted at Minister of State for Home Ajay Maken’s family house in the capital’s Rajouri Garden area was assaulted by three masked men, who then discussed ways to rob an ATM across the road, according to a complaint by Maken’s brother. Police Monday said they are investigating the incident.
In his complaint, the minister’s brother Sanjay Maken alleged that three masked men tied the hands of guard Vipin Kumar late Friday, smashed windows of his car and were discussing how to rob a bank ATM across the road from his house in Rajouri Garden area of West Delhi.
The assailants threatened the guard with dire consequences if he raised an alarm, the police said.
They untied the guard after half an hour and left after breaking a side mirror of Sanjay’s car, according to the complaint.
“We have questioned the guard of ATM and he has denied seeing or knowing about any such incident. It is also strange that Kumar did not tell others before the morning. We are now examining the veracity of the case,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (west Delhi) Sharad Aggarwal said.
