Grounded Indigo flight to undergo security drill
November 30th, 2009 - 2:45 am ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )New Delhi, Nov 30 (IANS) A security drill will be carried out on the Hyderabad-bound Indigo flight which was grounded amid a security threat late Sunday night at the Delhi airport, an official said.
“We received a call at our call centre informing us of a security threat on our flight 6E 307 DEL-HYD departing at 2055. All 164 passengers are safe. Mandatory security drill will be carried out as per the directions of the security agency,” said a spokesperson of the airline.
The flight was grounded here following a call at the airlines call centre claiming that there was ammunition on the plane, airport sources said.
The IndiGo flight, waiting for its turn to take-off, was taken to an isolation bay, the passengers de-boarded and a search was being carried out, an official at the Delhi airport, who did not wish to be identified, said.
The caller was yet to be identified and traced.
