Lucknow, June 25 (IANS) Alarmed over the cases of fake graduation degrees and mark sheets in the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University, the varsity administration plans to seek police help to bust the racket, said an official Wednesday. “We have decided to approach the police to bust the fake degree and certificate racket,” Gorakhpur University Vice-Chancellor Namdeo Shriramji Gajbhiye told IANS on telephone.

In the past six months, the varsity administration has come across at least seven cases in which the candidates managed to get jobs in various government departments by furnishing fake degrees and certificates of the university, an official said.

He said that Singh and several other candidates were caught when their degrees and mark sheets were sent by their appointing authority to the varsity administration.
