Google Changes Its Logo To “Bar Code”

barcode-google-logoOct 7, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Continuing the ongoing saga of Google Doodle, the Google Group has changed the logo of its search engine page into that of a bar code.

If you are unaware of the actual reason that why Google has opted for this sudden transition then the change in the Google logo might be a bit confusing for you. According to the sources, Google is actually celebrating the 57th anniversary since the first bar code patent was granted way back on October 7, 1952.

History beckons that the inventors of the bar code, Norman Woodland and Bernard Silver filed the patent in the year 1949, which was later on granted three years later. Sources reveal that the original patent was meant for a system that would enclose data in circles.

During recent times, Google has frequently fiddled with its logo, a policy that has been adopted by the company for some time. The Google logo showing an “unidentified flying object” carrying out the letter “o” did cause quite a stir amongst the Google users. After several speculations Google announced that it was done to mark the sci-fi writer, H.G.Well’s birth anniversary. Google has been known of changing its logo during some special occasions accounting to birthday or anniversary etc.

The new logo format produced by the company hereby adds another noticeable change that Google has been doing for the past few months. Even on 2nd October, the company was reportedly cited of changing its logo to that of the figure of Mahatma Gandhi, in order to celebrate his birthday.
