Goods train derailed in Haryana town

- Kalanaur (Haryana), Oct 30 (IANS) A goods train derailed in Yamunanagar district of Haryana Friday, disrupting rail traffic on Ambala-Saharanpur route for some time, an official said.
According to a Government Railway Police (GRP) official, three wagons of the goods train carrying coal derailed in Kalanaur town, around 100 km from state capital Chandigarh.
“There was no casualty or loss of property. Repair work has been completed and rail traffic has been restored on the route. Exact reason behind this accident could not be ascertained and we are investigating into the matter,” GRP official told IANS.
Superintendent of Chandigarh railway station R.K. Dutta said: “It was a minor accident. Immediately rail staff reached the accident site for the rescue work. Despite this interruption, most of the trains are on time on this route.”
