Goa’s politician accused of rape granted bail
April 1st, 2011 - 8:08 pm ICT by IANSPanaji, April 1 (IANS) A Goa politician accused of raping a Russian woman in 2009 was granted bail by a local court Friday.
John Fernandes (40), a member of Save Goa Front (SGF), was released on bail nearly two years after the incident after he furnished four sureties of Rs.50,000 each.
Fernandes was accused of raping a 21-year-old Russian woman after spiking her drink at a beach shack in Colva resort, 35 km from here.
