Mumbai, Feb 18 (IANS) Pharma major GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) Pharmaceuticals Wednesday said its net profit for the year ended Dec 31 increased by more than 7 percent to Rs.5.76 billion ($116.63 million) from Rs.5.37 billion ($108.76 million) in the year-ago period.
In a regulatory statement to the bourses, the company said its total income for the year was Rs.17.08 billion, a 5.37 percent increase from Rs.16.21 billion it notched a year ago.
GSK’s net profit was up 157.68 percent to Rs.2.08 billion for the quarter ended Dec 31 from Rs.809 million in the same period last year.
Its total income was Rs.3.76 billion for the quarter ended Dec 31, as compared to Rs.3.57 billion for the corresponding quarter the previous year.
Consolidated net profit for the group stood at Rs.5.91 billion for the year ended Dec 31, up 7.95 percent from Rs.5.48 billion in the year-ago period.
The group’s total income (consolidated) was Rs.17.43 billion for the year ended Dec 31 as against Rs.16.55 billion the previous accounting year.
