Girl tries to end life after MMS blackmail
April 26th, 2011 - 11:49 pm ICT by IANSRaipur, April 26 (IANS) A teenaged girl is battling for life at a government hospital in Chhattisgarh’s Bilaspur town after she set herself alight on being blackmailed by two youths over a MMS they had taken of her, police said. The two have been arrested.
The 19-year-old girl, who belongs to the Takhatpur area, some 140 km from Raipur, told police that two village youths had been blackmailing her for weeks using her MMS, Takhatpur police station incharge Sadhna Singh said.
Singh said that the girl poured kerosene over herself and set herself ablaze at her village house and was rushed to Bilaspur-based Chhattisgarh Institute of Medical Sciences (CIMS) in a serious condition.
