New Delhi, July 10 (IANS) Delhi police Friday arrested a 22-year-old man who allegedly murdered a girl inside her rented accommodation in East Patel Nagar area Thursday night suspecting she had relations with another man.
“Sunita (name changed), a native of Uttar Pradesh, along with her two friends was residing in a house in East Patel Nagar area as paying guest since the last six months. Last night at around 9:30 p.m., Sunita, along with her friends, had gone to a park near her house when she had an argument with Kapil Sharma, who was already present there,” police said.

Sharma alleged that Sunita was having an affair with another boy, after which she left the spot in anger. He then threatened he would teach her a lesson for her disloyalty.

“When her friends returned to the house, they found Sunita lying on the floor in a pool of blood with multiple stab wounds and informed the police,” the police said, adding that on the basis of the two girls’ statement, they arrested Sharma from near Patel Nagar Metro Station and recovered a blood stained knife and clothes and slippers having blood stains from him.

He confessed to have stabbed Sunita to death after the heated arguments in the park, the police added.

Sharma was preparing for business management entrance while Sunita was pursuing a course as a company secretary in Delhi.
