Girl commits suicide over brother’s death
September 20th, 2011 - 9:09 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Sep 20 (IANS) Unable to bear the death of her brother in a road accident, a 23-year-old girl committed suicide here by consuming poison, police said Tuesday.
Tabassum of Gokulpuri in east Delhi drank acid Monday night after she learning that her brother Sikander, 22, his fiancee and the fiancee’s mother were killed in the accident.
“Tabassum was in depression since her brother died,” said a police officer.
Sikander, Shahana Parveen Ansari, 40, and her daughter Nazreen, 21, were travelling on a bike when an unidentified vehicle hit them at Jyoti Nagar in east Delhi. All three died in hospital.
