Gilani to ministers: check prices of essential commodities

Islamabad, July 28 (IANS) Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has told his cabinet colleagues to take steps to bring down prices of essential commodities during Ramzan, a minister said.
Minister for Information and Broadcasting Firdous Ashiq Awan said Wednesday that Gilani directed the ministers to adopt effective measures to bring down prices of essential commodities and also directed that hoarders should be strictly dealt with.
Firdous said the cabinet had approved a subsidised price package of Rs.2 billion of essential food items to be distributed during Ramzan, reported Associated Press of Pakistan.
