Gibson pleaded with fire fighters to save Oscar statuettes

Mel GibsonLondon, Feb 23 (IANS) Two time Oscar winner Mel Gibson pleaded with fire fighters to save his Oscar statuettes when his house in California was about to be burnt.
Contactmusic.com reports that Gibson lives in Malibu which usually gets affected by fires. Gibson was more concerned about the awards he won for the film “Braveheart” than his home.

He said: “When the house was threatened by fire in the canyon, I told the firemen, ‘Don’t let the boys burn.’ They thought I meant my kids.”
