Ghaziabad police gun down wanted criminal
October 29th, 2009 - 5:49 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Ghaziabad, Oct 29 (IANS) A criminal, for whose arrest the police offered a cash reward of Rs.50,000, was killed in a gun battle with the Ghaziabad police Thursday afternoon, officials here said.
The criminal was identified as Ravindra Tyagi, police said. He was wanted by police to stand trial in many criminal cases.
According to police, the criminal was in a black Honda City car. Three policemen sustained gun shot injuries in the encounter.
The injured policemen were rushed to a local hospital here.
Meanwhile, the criminal’s body has been sent for post-mortem examination.
