Gas leak fire kills three of family
October 22nd, 2011 - 3:44 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Oct 22 (IANS) Three members of a family, including a six-year-old girl, were burnt to death when a leaking LPG cylinder at their Old Delhi home caught fire early Saturday, a police official said.
Shahbuddin, 42, his daughter Mijwa and sister-in-law Meena, 30, were charred to death in their second floor house in Lal Kuan. His wife Madreen, 30, is being treated at Sucheta Kriplani Hospital in central Delhi.
“The incident took place at around 8.30 a.m. Madreen was preparing breakfast in the kitchen and she failed to notice the gas leak which resulted in the fire,” the police official said.
The bodies of victims were taken to the hospital for post-mortem.
