Lucknow, Dec 1 (IANS) The engine of a Delhi-bound Garib Rath Express Tuesday derailed in Barabanki district of Uttar Pradesh when the train hit a road roller at an unmanned crossing. The tracks were damaged in the process.
Rail traffic was disrupted on the busy Gorakhpur-Delhi route after the train coming from Bihar derailed. Barring the drivers of the train and the roller, no one was seriously injured in the accident.

“The drivers of the train and that of the roller are undergoing treatment at a hospital. No passenger has been injured in the accident,” government railway police (GRP) inspector Mohan Verma told IANS.

“Senior officials have arrived on the spot, where the work to resume the traffic is underway,” he added.
