New Delhi, Dec 4 (IANS) Two days after Delhi Police claimed to have solved the latest BPO employee gangrape case here, former Indian Police Service officer and social activist Kiran Bedi Saturday said that the assault showed absence of preventive policing.
“Crimes such as gangrape, committed by repeat offenders, are proof of absence of preventive policing,” Bedi wrote in her Facebook account.
“Supervisors must be held accountable” for such repeat offences by criminals, she added.
Delhi Police claimed to have solved the gangrape case with the arrests of two men allegedly involved in the crime. A third suspect, already an accused in another case, surrendered in a court in Haryana. According to police, the accused were acquitted in sexual offence cases earlier.
