Gang of robbers busted in Punjab
November 11th, 2009 - 10:15 pm ICT by IANSRajpura (Punjab), Nov 11 (IANS) Punjab police claimed to have busted a gang of robbers with the arrest of seven people in this town Wednesday. Goods worth millions of rupees have been recovered from their possession, officials said.
“We laid a trap following a tip-off from our source. We have recovered 17 cars, including several luxury ones, five laptops, three pistols, 32 mobile phones and 20 alloy-wheels from their possession,” Vikramjit Brar, investigating officer of the case told IANS here Wednesday evening.
He added: “This gang had committed robberies in Chandigarh and at various towns of Punjab and Haryana. They belonged to different towns in Punjab and there were 21 cases pending against them.”
Rajpura town is in Patiala district and is around 45 km from state capital Chandigarh.
