London, Aug 29 (IANS) Oasis singer Liam Gallagher is so obsessed with the cartoon character SpongeBob SquarePants that he has commissioned an artist to paint its huge portrait.Thesun.co.uk reports that the painting will be displayed alongside rock icons Elvis and Jimi Hendrix’s pictures in his living room. Gallagher in the past has been pretty open about his fondness for the cartoon character and even appeared for the premiere of “SpongeBob” in 2005.

He said: “SpongeBob is a f****** mental, full-of-beans, enthusiastic sponge that lives at the bottom of the sea in Bikini Bottom. He’s mad for it. He’s got a mate called Squidward, who plays the clarinet and is grumpy like our kid Noel.

“I’m having a huge painting done at the minute, a proper Andy Warhol-style portrait of SpongeBob. He’ll be facing Elvis and Hendrix in the living room.”
