Kanpur, Aug 7 (IANS) At least four passengers, including three soldiers, were injured Saturday when several unidentified youths went on a rampage trying to occupy reserved seats in a train in this Uttar Pradesh city, officials said.
The incident took place Saturday evening in the Delhi-bound Muri Express near the Rura railway station in the city, some 80 km from Lucknow.

When some army men tried to stop the youth from occupying the reserved seats in the S-4 sleeper coach, they turned violent and started misbehaving with them. Later, the students resorted to brick batting and were driven away by a squad of Railway Protection Force (RPF).

“To drive away the youth, the squad even opened fire in the air,” Government Railway Police (GRP) inspector Paramhans Mishra told reporters here.

“All the injured passengers have been treated. An FIR (First Information Report) has also been registered against unidentified men for attacking the passengers,” he added.

“A team of GRP personnel along with police is making effort to nab those who went on the rampage inside the train,” Mishra said.
