Four of family killed in Uttar Pradesh accident
February 5th, 2011 - 11:37 am ICT by IANSFirozabad (Uttar Pradesh), Feb 5 (IANS) Four members of a family were killed and three critically injured when the car they were travelling in ploughed into a stationary truck here Saturday, police said.The accident took place in Shikohabad town when their Bolero car rammed into the truck, killing four men on the spot.
“It appears that the car driver could not spot the truck owing to heavy fog at the accident site,” police inspector Bhupinder Singh told reporters in Firozabad, some 350 km from Lucknow.
“The three injured, including two woman, have been admitted to hospital. Their condition is stated to be extremely serious,” he said.
According to police, the victims were returning to their home in Auraiya in Uttar Pradesh after attending a function in Firozabad.
