August 22nd, 2011 - 11:13 pm ICT by IANSLucknow, Aug 22 (IANS) Four members of a family, including a woman and her two children, were found murdered in Uttar Pradesh’s Aligarh district Monday, police said.
Hemlata, 32, her two children Sachin and Sudesh, aged 8-12 years, and her father-in-law Atar Singh, 58, were found murdered in their house in Kher area.
“It appears the four have been strangulated to death,” police Inspector B.S. Jawala told reporters in Aligarh, some 350 km from Lucknow.
“Investigations reveal the killings took place a few days ago. We came to know about the incident only when locals in the area approached us, complaining about foul smell emanating from the house,” he added.
Police are yet to ascertain the motive behind the crime.
