Four of a family arrested in Orissa

Bhubaneswar, Feb 6 (IANS) Four members of a family were arrested Friday for attempting self-immolation in front of Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s house here, a police officer said.”The family members were taken into custody before they could set themselves on fire,” the officer said.

Haladhar Mahanta, one of the arrested family members, said he wanted to end his life as the government failed to trace his younger son Bholeswar who is missing since February 2005. Mahanta is a resident of the coastal district of Jajpur.
