Four Nigerians held for cheating
February 1st, 2012 - 12:39 am ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Jan 31 (IANS) Four Nigerians have been arrested for cheating by using official logos of the union finance ministry, the Airports Authority of India and the International Cricket Council, among others, police said Tuesday.
Onwutalobi Martin Oluchukwu, 30, Nneke John Odikpo, 29, Sunday Chukwulota, 33, and Benjamin, 35, were arrested from south Delhi recently.
“The four Nigerians misused the official logos of the International Cricket Council, Mumbai airport, the Airports Authority of India, the finance ministry’s department of revenue, the Central Board of Excise and Customs and the UN to cheat innocent persons,” said a police official.
Police recovered eight laptops, 126 SIM cards, 26 mobile phones, 20 envelopes of pre-paid SIM cards, nine internet data cards, two debit cards, cheque books and some incriminating documents.
“The contacted local mobile phone shops and executives of mobile phone companies to arrange mobile number connections on fake identity papers. These mobile numbers were used for cheating,” the official said.
