Four Maoists surrender in Orissa
June 25th, 2011 - 8:13 pm ICT by IANSBhubaneswar, June 25 (IANS) Four Maoist guerrillas, including two women, surrendered before the police in Orissa’s Jajpur district Saturday, officials said.
Suru Palea, Laxmi Hessa, Bikram Gagarai and Ramesh Gagarai surrendered before the Superintendent of Police Deepak Kumar at the district headquarter town of Jajpur, about 120 km from Bhubaneswar.
They were all armed cadres of the Kalingnagar division of Communist Party of India-Maoist and involved in various crimes in the mineral-rich districts of Jajpur and Keonjhar, Deepak Kumar told IANS.
The crimes included murder, attacks on police station, abduction and arson attacks on business establishments and liquor shops, he said.
