Four Maoists held, explosives seized (Lead)
May 2nd, 2010 - 11:40 pm ICT by IANSBhubaneswar, May 2 (IANS) At least four Maoists were arrested in separate incidents Sunday in Orissa’s Gajapati and Malkangiri districts, police said.
Manas Majhi alias Laden, 35, and Jisio Pradhan alias Bulu, 22, were arrested by security personnel during a combing operation in Adaba area of Gajapati district, Superintendent of Police Sanjeev Arora told IANS.
A gun and about 25 detonators, used to trigger explosives, have been seized from them. “The arrested rebels were involved in at least three-four crimes,” Arora said.
Two more rebels were arrested by security personals during combing operations in Malkangiri district, a district police official said.
Bani Sodi and Devi Madkami were arrested from a forest area near Tekguda village in the district. They admitted that they were involved in several crimes, he said.
