Four Maoists arrested for attack on Orissa leader
November 30th, 2009 - 10:27 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Bhubaneswar, Nov 30 (IANS) Four Maoists involved in the attack on Jharkhand Mukti Morcha’s (JMM) Orissa unit chief Sudam Marandi Oct 13 were arrested from West Bengal by the Orissa police Monday, an official said.
“We have arrested four Maoists involved in several incidents including the attack on the JMM leader Sudam Marandi. They had a hand in killing three police personnel in that incident,” Mayurbhanj’s Superintendent of Police Dayal Gangwar said.
The rebels were arrested from neighbouring West Bengal by Mayurbhanj police.
Marandi had a narrow escape when the rebels made a bid on his life as he came out of a football field at Pandab village under Chandua police station of the district. Three of his police guards were killed in the incident.
