Four labourers fall to death

Thane (Maharashtra), Sep 29 (IANS) Four labourers Thursday were killed as the scaffold they were standing on to paint a multi-storey building collapsed, police said.
“Nine labourers were standing on a wooden scaffold painting the building. The scaffold suddenly broke loose and fell to the ground, killing three labourers on the spot. One other died in the hospital while five others were seriously injured,” a police official told IANS.
The police, however, are yet to find out the floor of the 14-storey building in the Mira Road area on which the labourers were working.
Those killed have been identified as Naresh Dabba, 22, Govinda Monnapuram, 23, Mashappa Lavanga, 26 and Raju Sherla, 22.
