The district administration said that at least 50 others are feared trapped in the debris.

“We have till now been able to recover four bodies. Chances of more dead under the debris are high,” a district administration official told IANS.

“We have launched relief operations and have sought the army’s help,” the official said. The reason behind the collapse of the 50-metre bridge is being investigated, he said.
