Four killed in Uttar Pradesh accident
June 29th, 2011 - 11:54 am ICT by IANSLucknow, June 29 (IANS) At least four people on their way back from a wedding were killed when their car fell into a canal in Uttar Pradesh’s Ballia district, police said Wednesday. Some of those in the car are missing.
The accident took place late Tuesday when the speeding Scorpio skidded off the road and fell into the Shival canal in Bauria town, some 300 km from Lucknow.
“Eyewitnesses say six-seven people were present inside the car. Four bodies were fished out today (Wednesday),” said police inspector T.B. Singh.
The victims were returning to their native place in Ballia after attending a marriage party in Gopalnagar town of the district.
