Four killed in road accidents

New Delhi, Sep 4 (IANS) Four people, including a policeman, were killed in separate road accidents here Sunday, police said.

In the first accident, Head Constable Rakesh Kumar, 38, was found dead in south Delhi’s Cantonment area early Sunday.

A police van spotted Kumar lying unconscious in a pool of blood. He was rushed to hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.

Police said they were investigating whether he was crushed under a speeding vehicle or his two-wheeler skidded due to rain.

In the second case, two youths, Rahul Mehta and Prashant Mehta — were killed and another injured when their speeding car rammed into a truck near Moti Bagh flyover in south Delhi.

A case of negligent driving has been registered against the survivor Harpratap Gill, a police officer said.

The third accident took place in north Delhi?s Bharat Nagar area, where 22-year-old Gagandeep was killed while his friend Harmeet Singh was critically injured when their speeding Honda City car turned turtle after hitting an electric pole, police said.
