Four killed in Madhya Pradesh road accident
August 16th, 2009 - 11:59 pm ICT by IANSBhopal, Aug 16 (IANS) At least four people including two children were killed and 50 injured when an overcrowded bus rolled down a 300-foot deep gorge in Madhya Pradesh’s Dhar district Sunday, police said.
The tragedy near Sullibardi, about 300 km from here, Dhar district police superintendent Rakesh Gupta said, adding that the bus was proceeding to Mandav, a tourist place about 50 km from Dhar district headquarters.
The victims have been identified as students Gaurav Sharma and Aushi and their teachers Rajendra Sharma and Sunita Singh.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced a Rs.100,000 compensation for the kin of those killed and Rs.25,000 for each of the injured.
