Four killed in Chhattisgarh road accident
August 18th, 2010 - 12:31 am ICT by IANSRaipur, Aug 17 (IANS) Four people were killed and seven injured Tuesday as the vehicle they were travelling in hit a tree in Raipur district, police said.
The accident took place near Devri village on National Highway-200 in Raipur district, some 45 km from the state capital.
Police said that the driver of the speeding Bolero vehicle lost control and then the SUV hit a roadside tree, killing four of the passengers on the spot.
Local residents and police took the seven injured to Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Government Hospital here. They were said to be in a critical condition.
The victims belonged to Raigarh district.
