Four killed as truck falls into canal in West Bengal
October 11th, 2009 - 7:23 pm ICT by IANSKolkata, Oct 11 (IANS) Four people were killed when a truck hit a guard rail and fell into a canal on Jessore Road in West Bengal’s Howrah district Sunday, police said.
The accident occurred when the driver of the truck, heading to Barasat in North 24-Parganas district from Howrah, lost control of the vehhicle. The truck broke the guardrail near Lakshmipool, the police said.
The truck turned turtle and slipped into the canal, killing all the four on the spot, the police added.
