Four killed as train hits car in Uttar Pradesh
November 26th, 2010 - 5:59 pm ICT by IANSLucknow, Nov 26 (IANS) Four people, including two women, of a family were killed and two others were critically injured when a train rammed into the car carrying them in Uttar Pradesh’s Rampur district Friday, police said.
The accident took place at an unmanned railway crossing in the Civil Lines area here, where the Kathgodam-Moradabad Express hit an Alto car, killing four people on the spot.
“The two injured, including a minor girl, are being treated at a hospital. The condition of both of them is stated to be serious,” police inspector R.P. Singh told reporters in Rampur, some 300 km from here.
According to police, the family was from Haldwani in Uttarakhand.
The train was heading to Moradabad from Kathgodam in Uttarakhand.
