Four injured in crude bomb explosion in Uttar Pradesh
April 19th, 2010 - 9:25 pm ICT by IANSLucknow, April 19 (IANS) At least four people were injured, one of them critically, when a crude bomb exploded in a garbage dump in Uttar Pradesh’s Hathras district Monday, police said.
The explosion took place in the afternoon at Shasni town in the district, some 300 km from Lucknow.
“All the injured men are being treated at a hospital. Of the four injured, one is critical,” police inspector R.N. Singh told reporters in Hathras.
“Though preliminary investigations reveal a crude bomb caused the explosion, we are yet to ascertain how the bomb reached the garbage dump. We have initiated an enquiry into the matter,” he added.
According to police, three people have been detained in this connection.
