Four held with 221 kg of marijuana in Delhi
April 7th, 2011 - 8:50 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, April 7 (IANS) Four people were arrested in the national capital with 221 kg of marijuana, police said Thursday.
“Gurcharan Singh, 47, Lakhwinder Singh, 60, Pardeep Singh, 35, and Kuldeep Singh, 32, were held from Mukarba Chowk at Samaipur Badli area in north Delhi Wednesday following a tip-off,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police Ashok Chand.
During interrogation, the four men told police that they procured the contraband from Sambalpur in Orissa and drove non-stop to reach Delhi.
“The contraband was to be delivered to Gurmeet Singh and Raj Kumar, the kingpins of the drug trafficking racket. Both are absconding. Efforts are on to apprehend them,” said Chand.
