Four drown off Maharashtra coast
October 23rd, 2011 - 7:38 pm ICT by IANSRatnagiri (Maharashtra), Oct 23 (IANS) Four members of a family, including three minors, drowned while two others were rescued after a boat capsized in a creek here Sunday, police said.
The incident happened around 1 p.m. when the small fishing boat was crossing Sakhartare Creek, three kilometers from here. The boat suddenly capsized, throwing all occupants overboard.
Fishing folk of Sakhartare village rescued the two survivors.
The victims were identified as Mauzzam G. Sakharkar, 34, Ali R. Sakharkar, 10, Owais K. Sakharkar, 8, and Anees I. Sakharkar, 7.
