Bhopal, March 13 (IANS) Four first-year students of the Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya (RGPV) here were Thursday suspended for beating up a classmate. Ravi Sharma complained that he was beaten up by a group of about 10 students Thursday morning while he was going to attend the class.

Sharma, who received minor injuries, said the students who beat him up wanted him not attend the class.

RGPV director V.K. Sethi said the four students prima facie found guilty of beating up Sharma were suspended for six months.

He, however, denied it to be a case of ragging, and said none of the seniors was involved in the incident.

“There appears to be some other reason and the management is inquiring into the matter,” Sethi told IANS.
