New Delhi, Mach 11 (IANS) In an incident of road rage in the capital, four drunken men allegedly chased a couple over five km after a minor car accident. The police arrested the four and later released them on bail. The incident took place Monday night when Jagdeep Singh, 40, a resident of Greater Kailash area of south Delhi, was returning home along with his wife Gagan and a six-year-old son in their car from Model Town.
“When they were near Lodhi Road flyover, their vehicle was hit by another car. The couple then had a heated exchange of words as they protested against the rash driving by the four men, who were in the car,” a senior police officer said.
“The couple then sped away from the place, trying to avoid a brawl. But the four drunken men in their car started chasing them.
“The couple drove their car to the Greater Kailash police station and meanwhile called police and informed them about being chased,” the senior police officer added.
The police flashed the message and arrested the four men, Rajeev, Tavrej, Sanjeev and Arjun from near the police station itself as they were chasing the couple.
“Arjun was driving the car. He works at a taxi stand. The other three are residents of Jungpura area and are mechanics by profession,” the senior police officer added.
The four men were arrested and a case was registered against them at the Greater Kailash police station. Later, the four men were released on bail.
